Baby Shower Ideas
Bootie Decoration
Required: Large
marshmallows, toothpicks, frosting, cake decorating bag,
cookie sheet |
Color the frosting into preferred colors for the baby
booties. Each bootie will take three marshmallows and
two toothpicks. Place two marshmallows on top of each
other (flat sides together) and push a toothpick through
them. The third marshmallow place next to the two with
the flat side down and run a toothpick through the side
connecting it to the bottom of the other two. Use a star
tip and cover all of marshmallows with frosting this
way. Ideas for decorating would be to cover in white and
accent the edge with pink or blue frosting. Use a thin
writing tip to create shoelaces and allow to air dry to
harden. |
Diaper Candy Dish
Required: White
felt, paraffin wax, double boiler and small gold safety
pins |
Cut pieces of white felt, fold into the shape of a
diaper and add one small safety pin on each side. Set
diaper upright to see inside and then place carefully
into melted paraffin wax while in this shape. Once
covered with wax pull out and place on cookie sheet to
cool. Add nuts, candies and place on tables as candy
dishes. |
Diaper Napkins
Required: Paper
dinner napkins, 1 inch safety pins and peanut butter
(optional) |
Fold the dinner napkin into the shape of a baby diaper
and attach the safety pins on the side like a normal
baby diaper. Place those out on the food table for the
guests to take with their food or if you¡¦re not
into
folding that many napkins do a few just for decoration.
To make this idea into a game add a scoop of peanut
butter into a few of the diapers. The recipients of the
dirty diapers could receive a simple gift like hand
wipes or air fresheners. |
Favorite Book For Baby
Required: Favorite
Book |
Have all the guest for the baby shower bring one of
their favorite books they liked as a child or that they
liked reading to their own children. Instruct them to
write a message to the baby about the book or some type
of inspiring message, date and sign the book. |
Holiday Punch
Ingredients: |
|
1 cup
sugar
2-3 tea bags
1 - 6oz can frozen lemonade
2 quarts of water |
|
2 large
cans of pineapple (not frozen)
1 - 12oz can frozen orange juice
2 ¡V 4 bottles of 7-UP 2 liters
Clean Empty Gallon Milk Jug |
Measure 2 quarts of water, take 2 cups of that and heat.
Place tea bags into the hot water until tea has fully
seeped, then pour in sugar and mix until dissolved. Pour
into clean one-gallon milk jug and add the rest of the
measured water. Add to that the lemonade, orange juice,
and shake until well mixed. Refrigerate along with pop
and large can of pineapple juice until your ready to
make your punch. Make an ice ring with baby toys within
it or with cut orange slices and cherries. Add to large
punch bowl 1/3 to 1/2 milk jug mixture, 2/3 ¡V l large
can of pineapple juice, 1 bottle of 7-UP and ice ring.
You¡¦ll love this punch and we quite often have this
punch around the holidays. |
Punch Bowl
Required: Baby tub,
rubber ducks, and teething rings |
For a unique looking punch bowl you could use the small
bathtubs that they give out at the hospital, purchase a
baby tub or use your normal punch bowl. Purchase baby
items to float in the punch bowl like rubber ducks, toy
boats or whatever theme you¡¦re using. Purchase teething
rings, freeze and use as ice rings within the punch. |
Receiving Blanket Wrap
Required: Thin
printed receiving blankets and diaper pins |
When I purchase a gift for a baby shower, which is going
to be wrapped in a shirt box, I use receiving blankets
to creatively wrap my gift. Why pay for wrapping paper
when a blanket won¡¦t be wasted and tossed away. Use
either 1 inch gold safety pins or diaper pins to hold
the blankets around the package. For a bow you can use
items that will also be useful for the new parents like
pacifiers, teething rings, stuffed animals, booties,
baby socks and add a little bit of ribbon if needed for
filler. |
Small Ice Pool
Required: Small pool
and ice |
If you¡¦re doing a picnic shower outside and you have
several guests and items to keep cold here¡¦s a tip.
Purchase a small inflatable wadding pool, place on a
plastic tablecloth and fill with ice. You can then place
your salads and desserts within the pool to keep cold.
This idea works great for other events like graduation
parties and picnic. |
